Occasionally, gastric diverticula cause symptoms, including pain, bloating, epigastric fullness, bleeding, and perforation. Rarely, they are associated with abscess formation [2–4]. We present a case of a gastric diverticulum complicated by recurrent intraabdominal abscess formation, treated with drainage, antibiotics, and, ultimately, laparoscopic surgery. An 18-year-old woman with a history of idiopathic intra-abdominal abscess, which was treated with percutaneous drainage and antibiotics, presented with recurrent abdominal pain.
